Symantec End Point Protection update Installation Package with latest virus definitions

  1. Navigate to Symantec's Antivirus Update Page. If you cannot click on the link paste this into your address bar. {http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/download/pages/US-N95.html}
  2. Download the lastest update ending in "i32.exe". Note: This is usually the first avalible download on the page.
  3. Once downloaded, use your favorite compression program (WinRAR, WinACE, etc...) to extract the contents of "XXXXXXXX-XXX-i32.exe" to a folder.
  4. Once extracted, rename the file "VIRSCAN.zip" to "VDefHub.zip".
    Once renamed, copy and paste the file "VDefHub.zip" into your symantec install directory and overwrite the exsisting file.

Note: Your newly made 'VDefHub.zip' should be a larger file than the one you are replacing.

Legacy PACE Drivers (iLok) crashes and BSOD Windows 10, couldn't install Avid Media Composer v8.x (RESOLVED)

Hey all, I want to share with you my nightmare experience attempting to install Avid MC 8.5.3 on my new Windows 10 machine, and share the solution I found I couldn't install Avid MC v8.x on my Windows 10 workstation due to MC forcing me to install an outdated and unsupported PACE Driverst. Every time I would run the Avid MC installer, when it asked for a reboot after the install completed, my computer would not boot back up. It would repeatedly crash on the "dots spinning in a circle" startup screen, turn into "attempting repairs," and then bring me to the boot recovery menu.  After some experimenting I found the culprit: I began the installation of Avid MC only to where it installs Legacy PACE Drivers, and didn't actually install Avid MC v8.x. Leave MTU unchanged unless: You have problems connecting to your ISP, or other Internet service, and either the technical support of the ISP or of NETGAER recommends changing MTU.
